Apparently, the virus corrupted my EXE files and they are now APPLICATION files. Needless to say, I cannot %26quot;run%26quot; any downloaded virus, spyware. malware files.
I can access REGEDIT.exe and I can see that the %26quot;default value data%26quot; is application. Can I manually change this?How can I change my once EXE files back to %26quot;executable%26quot; files after being hit by a virus?

sorry but can you please add some more info, a EXE file is an application ??? so do you mean XLS for an Excel file etc has been changed.
