Bypass Admin to access regedit and msconfig?

I have a laptop that has Admin restrictions on it. I can't access the run command, regedit, msconfig, heck i cant even change the background image because the restrictions are so tight. I have to hit Ctrl-Alt-Del to login and have tried the 'net user Administrator *' trick because I bypassed the block on the cmd prompt. However that gave me the System error 5 has occurred speech. Any ideas how to take down the admin restrictions wld be great. ThanksBypass Admin to access regedit and msconfig?

The quintessential question that leads one to hacking. Everybody asks it, few find benefit, a couple find success.

Simply put, when you log in to your laptop, the computer recognizes you as having a certain 'role'. There is a programmatic hierarchy behind the scenes. Roles such as 'administrator' control 'user'. Anyone above you can control your abilities. When you log in, the computer automatically recognizes you in the role to which you were assigned. You are essentially constrained to play in your sandbox without the ability to leave. The administrators are in the teacher's lounge making sure the students don't burn down the building. But more likely you are in a corporation to which they are ensuring their assets are not jeopardized.

What you are asking, is how to break out of the sandbox and act like the teacher.

You could just stick a linux os cd in the computer and run it.

Don't you have your own computer? Just use that.
