He changed something in the computer registry and... ?

When he logged into the computer, it starts up like normal. He sees the background image and the mouse is working, but there are no icons. If someone can tell me how to access the registry, I can solve it from there. When I use the Windows Task Manager to create a new task and i type in regedit and I click OK to create a new task, nothing happens.

Is your taskbar there? Did you try right clicking on your desktop. go to view then make sure that show desktop icons icons has been selected.He changed something in the computer registry and... ?
